How about the big categories being
PbP Games
and rather than making subcategories by type of game, let each PbP game be its own subcategory, housing possibly a few threads each to track the various aspects of the game. I know a lot of people like a sort of IC/OOC split, tho I hate it and want everything in a single thread.
Past PbP Games
and the whole subcategory gets moved here when the game is done.

Works for me. I may have to modify your big/little category suggestions a bit, just because you need a small category, I think, to start making posts.
I'd add in a "recent posts" and possibly even "active threads" to the top nav. I also like having easy access to the "recent changes" on the left. In general, my instinct is to have this mirror the layout of the NYRB site as much as possible for easy inter-navigation.
I know this gets into fiddly HTML-jockeying. Charlatan is good at this stuff and usually happy to help, I can also mess with it if you like (not that I have any ability).
Done (for the most part). I don't care as much that it's only 95% similar to Redbox, I can live with the small differences. Let me know though if this becomes a dealbreaker for you! :)
Maybe a "Rogue's Gallery" link somewhere in the top bar for character sheets?
done! Just make sure new guys are tagged with 'characters'!
Also, don't be alarmed by the green monster face by this site's URL, I did that.
Scott, I think the Astral Avarice, Blackhole Business, Wall In Space, and RADDical Wilderlands threads could all be moved to Inactive Games. After a solid 27 seconds of trying, I cannot figure out how. Could you tell me the steps or just be my minion and do it for me, and also can you change my kitty litter and teach me kung fu or just do it for me?
Done. Thanks, man! You've carried this site for a while, and I have to get out of my funk. Maybe I'll try starting a module of my own tonight. I wish RADD survived your discontent, but if it seems like work, then it's time to move on.

I think the very short adventures you did or the table-adjacent Pendragon Sternum is starting up are much better picks than the totally open-ended stuff I usually want to run.
