Not so much because I want to do another PbP right away, let me offer what ideas I have for those who wish to suffer through my terrible lack of ability with prose:
Deadlier Dungeons and Dragons: Armor means a lot more, not getting into melee is even smarter. My hack of Dungeons and Dragons uses Runequest ideas and is pretty much a total steal from my Doomquest variant. Locational HPs, head shots, called shots are all possible here. It's about as much Runequest combat as I can fit. Characters require a lot of conversion, and the movement/encumbrance rules need some help, but it could be totally cool if you like more detailled battles.)
Tunnels and Trolls On the other hand, if you like your game combat even less detailled, but possibly just as long, we can do Tunnels and Trolls. I love this game system and have read 50% of my 5e book, so I can run a module pretty soon. Play dwarves, elves, trolls, whatever, in a fantasy world that doesn't water down the dungeons with boring pseudo medieval history. Dungeons are oddball cosmic occurences. Stores pop up right by them to sell you gear. Lower levels are deadlier. Have at it!
I'm thinking in a week or two I can start one of these, possibly after the 23rd when my wife is home from overseas.
