So, with all this Pendragon talk, I asked James if it was the mechanics of the game or its simulationist ties with Arthurian Legends that really excited him about it. I then was thinking about games to straddle the line between this and D&D, and that brought me here.
Apparently in 2000, they re-released the 1st edition as a revised PDF so it wasn't in 5 pt type anymore (the original's text was reduced, I guess) but now it clocks in at over 300 pages.
Apparently the original D&D gamers who made this didn't think D&D was anywhere near right when it came to topside and wilderness exploring. The magic system is supposedly crazy complicated as well, but.. hell, I'm intrigued.
